This is what being a Colorado wedding photographer is all about. Wildflowers, stunning vistas, and a mountaintop cheers with a few cans of Denver Beer Co.’s Hey! Pumpkin ale. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Amanda + Trevor planned the perfect Colorado mountain destination wedding. Before the ceremony at the Secret Garden Bed + Breakfast, we hopped in a few Jeep Wranglers and hoofed it up the mountainside to Yankee Boy Basin. Amanda had told me in advance just how gorgeous this location was going to be, and let me tell you — they really weren’t kidding when they nicknamed Ouray as the Switzerland of America.
Yankee Boy Basin is what you see on postcards when you send loved ones little notes from your trip to the mountains. It’s so picturesque, in fact, that I’m still surprised to this day that Julie Andrews didn’t come twirling about in front of us, singing “The Hills Are Alive.”
