There is so much color, street art and urban goodness coming up for you in this post! This was my first Blanc wedding ever and it absolutely lived up to its expectations as one of the premier urban wedding venues in the city. I’m so excited to share these photos with you today!
Kerry and Mike were married this past fall in the middle of September, on probably one of the most popular dates of the year (I got a ton of inquiries for their date after they booked). September is a huge month for Colorado weddings as the warm weather is on its way out, the summer rain has subsided, and the leaves are changing across the state.
This year, September was 100% my busiest month — I photographed a total of eleven weddings from the first weekend of September to the first weekend of October. For comparison, I shot a total of 21 weddings in my entire wedding season. The fall weddings made up for nearly half of my season — holy cow! It was a wild stretch of a ton of shooting for a minute there for sure!
In the past, I had done a couple of bridal fashion shoots at Blanc with the top bridal veils and accessories company in Denver, Veil Trends. These shoots were usually just one or two models and just a shit-ton of bridal apparel, so I had never been able to fully see what Blanc could do with a real wedding inside its walls.
Let me tell you what I found out from this time shooting at Blanc: this venue is the tits.
The outdoor ceremony under the string lights while the sun set softly in the background was divine. The cocktail hour in the industrial barn had such a cool, urban vibe. The night ended indoors for a killer reception decorated by the planner who referred me this amazing couple, Kate Dalton with Bello + Blue Events. She decked out the reception hall with florals hanging from the ceiling, on the wall, and sprouting up from the centerpieces on the tables. It was an absolute stunner.
Every part of the day went so smoothly, and that’s a testament to how awesome Kate is as a wedding planner. We started off with some getting ready photos at the new Maven Hotel at the Dairy Block. If you haven’t visited this new building that’s just minutes from Union Station and Coors Field, I highly recommend checking it out. The interior is modern-upscale with splashes of artwork throughout. Kerry’s room had a gorgeous mural of a beautiful woman on one of the walls that made an awesome backdrop for some of her getting ready photos.
After that, we hit crushed the first look and bridal party photos at the venue before venturing out to RiNo for portraits of just Kerry + Mike. The week before their wedding, the hella rad Crush took place and a ton of new murals sprung up around the neighborhood. We were able to shoot some photos with the new colors and textures and I just love how the photos from this portion of the day turned out.
The day continued with a sunset ceremony and ensuing cocktail hour. After the speeches and blessings at the reception finished, I stuck around to grab some killer dancing photos before heading out for the evening. All in all, it was an A+ day with the best clients and vendor team. I can’t wait to shoot another wedding here someday!
Thank you again to Kerry + Mike for having me along to document this day and to Kate with Bello + Blue for trusting me with your clients. Please enjoy my faves from the day below!
