I am so excited to share these images (and subsequent publication!) from this amazing urban styled shoot at one of my favorite Denver wedding venues, Blanc! I worked with an incredible vendor team for this day and I just love how the images came out in the end. Every detail was top-notch, and I’d love to share just what I love about each vendor involved in making this vision come to life in this blog post.
Venue: Blanc
It’s no secret that I love city weddings. When management at Blanc reached out to see if I wanted to do a styled shoot at their property this past December, I was over-the-moon ecstatic to accept. I recently shot my first wedding at the space and couldn’t have loved it more. It is equal parts industrial and classy, minimalist yet rich with texture and so many unique backdrops for photos. The proximity to the art of RiNo is perfection, and it’s just a quick Lyft from all the hotels downtown for your guests. I couldn’t recommend this venue more!
Planning: Sweetly Paired
I have had the pleasure of working with Lilli of Sweetly Paired on numerous occasions since we first met while working a wedding together in Boulder in 2013. We’ve done styled shoots, mountain weddings, city weddings, you name it. Lilli is a master of her craft (she was once one of the premier wedding florists in Denver as well) and truly knows weddings inside and out. She is the queen of making every idea, no matter how grandiose, a reality. If I ever tie the knot, she’ll be in charge of it all!
Floral: The Olive + Poppy
Shannon is a genius of epic proportions when it comes to floral design. We’ve done a few weddings together now and she never fails to stun her clients, vendors, and the wedding guests. She nailed this autumn floral design for this shoot with the perfect color palette and lovely variety of blooms + textures.
Catering: Catering by Design
I eat a lot of wedding food. A lot. Over the years, I’ve tried nearly all the Denver wedding caterers and very few stand out in terms of taste and customer service. Catering by Design is one of them. I’ve always been treated so well by their banquet staff (you’d be shocked to hear how poorly some local catering companies treat vendors on wedding days — but that’s for another blog post!) and their food is always delicious. I loved the amuse-bouches they prepped for this shoot and so did the rest of the crew involved — we ate them all before the day was over!
Lighting + Décor: Have A Seat Colorado
The main theme of this shoot was an urban fall wedding, and we couldn’t have done it without the ceremony décor from Have A Seat. The mountain-inspired arches in Blanc’s industrial barn gave the shoot the exact amount of rustic charm that it needed to really execute that autumn wedding vibe.
Desserts: Yours Truly Cupcake
I’m getting hungry just looking at these photos. We had quite the spread for this shoot, complete with mini chocolate chip cookies, mini cupcakes, macarons, and a gorgeous couple’s cake as the centerpiece. I haven’t had lunch yet — but I’m thinking I need to get some of these treats in my life ASAP!
Attire, Hair + Makeup: Generation Tux, Altar Bridal Centennial + Erin Flint
I freaking loved that one of our brides was clad in a sharp, well-fitted tie-less navy suit from Generation Tux. It meshed so well with the glam AF gown from the Altar Bridal, and together, these two were a true wedding power couple: sophisticated, classy, and feminine yet powerful. The finishing touches from our fantastic hair + makeup artist, Erin Flint, included enchanting hair + makeup styling.
This was my first styled shoot with Tony and I am so excited to have met a new DJ to add to my list of trusted vendors. It is imperative to have a good DJ (or band) at your wedding to keep the reception flowing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worked weddings with inexperienced DJs. The ones who pay the price are your guests. It’s truly worth it to splurge a bit for an experienced MC to keep guests engaged and to keep the party bangin.
Paper, Linens + Rentals: Paper Guppy, Linen Hero + Colorado Party Rentals
Wrapping up this stacked vendor team are these three wedding detail powerhouses. You can see it in the photo above just how perfectly they blend together: rose gold hues in the place settings plus deep copper tones in the linen plus classy-modern typography in the menu cards equals one show-stopping dining table for your guests.
All in all, this was a home run and I couldn’t be more impressed with the execution from this stellar Denver wedding vendor team. If you need any of these boxes checked off on your wedding planning list, don’t hesitate to reach out to anyone on this post, including yours truly!
