2021 Photography Update

Hello + happy holidays, my friends!  I hope you are all surviving the last few remaining days of this absolutely bizarro year.

I wanted to drop in real quick and post an update about what my 2021 wedding and portrait photography season will look like.  There are a couple of notable changes that I’d like to share with you today.

  • Beginning in 2021, I will no longer be taking full-day weddings over three hours in length.  At the risk of sounding #old, my body simply doesn’t enjoy those long eight-hour days of shooting.  And neither does my dog!  Sherman will be turning nine this year and I would like to spend more weekend time with her.
  • Conversely, I will no longer be taking weddings that are more than ~30 minutes from downtown.  Colorado mountain weddings are absolutely stunning — there is no doubt about that — but I’m just no longer interested in the stress of making it down I-70 and competing with summer hiker and biker traffic.  With that said, I’ve always loved city weddings and will continue to shoot around Denver.  You know I can’t stay away from RiNo!
  • Overall, I will be shifting away from weddings and focusing more on boudoir and portrait sessions.  As of late (and in part due to the coronavirus heavily restricting weddings this past season), I have really been enjoying taking family photos, maternity photos, and senior photos.  It’s been lovely to reconnect with past clients and get them some updated portraits for their holiday cards.
  • Lastly, October 2021 will conclude my wedding photography career.  I will be moving on from wedding photography and will be pursuing other career avenues.  I know that sounds very final, but I will always be open to taking family photos for any past clients.  I’ll never be able to truly put the cameras down!  But, it is time for me to lay my wedding photography career to rest.  It’s been a little over 11 years and I’ve photographed over 150 weddings in that time.  I am overwhelmingly thankful for every client and every wedding that I was able to document, and I always will be grateful for this chapter in my life.  If you are reading this and you’ve supported my photography career in any way, shape, or form — I sincerely thank you, from the bottom of my heart.  I couldn’t have done this without you.

If you have any questions about any of these new items as they relate to your photo inquiry, please don’t hesitate to reach out for clarification.

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe remaining holiday season + new year!  I’ll see you in 2021!
