Space Gallery Wedding Photos

It is a massive honor to share these Space Gallery wedding photos with you today!

Two of my very best friends, Spencer + Jayna, tied the knot this past fall at one of my favorite venues in all of Denver: Space Gallery!  Located in the heart of the vibrant Santa Fe Art District, the venue has a stunning indoor and outdoor space to accommodate any style of wedding.  The venue has a modern, urban feel to it — which I am obviously a huge fan of!

Art gallery weddings are some of my favorite kinds of weddings to shoot.  They all feel so classic, crisp, and colorful.  Space Gallery has rotating art and sculptures, which is an added bonus of booking an art gallery for your wedding as it eliminates much of the need to spend on décor.

Thank you again to Spencer + Jayna for having me along for their wedding day.  It is always so heartwarming when friends include me as a vendor on such a momentous day.  I will cherish these photos forever and can’t wait to look back on them when Spencer, Jayna and I are all causing a ruckus together at the nursing home.

Lost Gulch Engagement Photos

One of my favorite things about living in Denver is just how close we are to almost everything (we just need a beach!), including Boulder.  This is one of my top engagement photo spots and I’m so excited to share these Lost Gulch engagement photos with you!

Candice and Khaled flew in from out of town (North Carolina, to be specific) for this shoot.  The proposal took place at the airport where Khaled surprised Candice as she got home from a trip to Dallas, Texas.  I love how thoughtful Khaled was in planning all of this.  He even got everything on video!  I think it’s so rad that they’ll be able to watch the proposal for many years to come.

For their engagement shoot, we initially planned for a few locations along the I-70 corridor: Sapphire Point, Lake Dillon, and Loveland Pass (more awesome Colorado mountain engagement session locations).  However, nature wasn’t having any of it as the area was plagued with severe avalanche warnings.  I love a good snowy engagement session as much as the next photographer, but couldn’t justify bringing my clients to those areas.  Candice and Khaled will just have to come back for an anniversary shoot next year!  🙂

We still got some gorgeous mountain views at Lost Gulch Overlook, which is a quick 10-minute drive from the downtown Boulder area.  I tip my hat to these two for putting up with all my requests to have them stand on rocks + trek through the muddy trails.  The photos were definitely worth it!

Thank you again to Candice and Khaled for trusting me with their engagement photos!  I hope you enjoy some of my favorites below.

Hi, I’m Ashley and I’ve been a Denver portrait photographer or almost a decade now (holy cow)!  I love everything about the Denver metro area, including being able to sneak off to locations like this in Boulder for mountain engagement sessions!  Lost Gulch is the perfect spot for stunning mountain photos without having to trek down I-70 in hours of ski traffic. If you’re interested in an engagement shoot like this, let’s chat more!  Feel free to get in touch with me through my contact form here or directly at ashley.kidder@gmail.com.

Looking forward to hearing from you!  -Ash

Moss Denver Wedding Photos

I am so thrilled to share these Moss Denver wedding photos with you!

Steph + Jess were married this past summer at one of the newest wedding venues (and a personal fave of mine) in the city: Moss Denver.  I’m a huge fan of any wedding venue that celebrates its urban elements, and Moss is no exception!

The venue itself is situated in the Santa Art District, which is also a super-favorite place of mine to shoot.  Steph + Jess got ready offsite at a nearby hotel and then we moved everything over to the area: first look photos, bridal party, and portraits.  I love that we got so much variety from not only inside the venue but from the surrounding areas.

Thank you again to this lovely couple for having me along for their wedding day!  I love the images we created together and can’t wait for you to peruse them below!

Industrial Denver Bridal Photos

I don’t know about you, but I just can’t get enough of these industrial Denver wedding photos!

Last month, I did a shoot with my dear friend Jolene Picone, who is the owner, founder, and creative visionary behind Veil Trends and J-Picone Bridal.  She is a massive force of talent in the Denver bridal accessories world and it is always such a huge privilege to do a shoot with her.

For our sixth (!!!) collaboration together, we shot at the Stanley Marketplace out in Aurora.  The venue’s vibe is definitely urban-industrial, and it even has a dedicated space for those types of weddings.  I always love shooting here for that total city feel, and the light is perfection, too.

Here are a few of my favorite things from this day:

  • Those colored veils!  It’s not everyday that you see a periwinkle blue or lush lavender veil in the bridal world.  I love that Jolene steps outside the box and crafts truly unique items for her brides.
  • That bridal jumpsuit!  Holy shit, this needs to become a thing like yesterday.  I am head-over-heels in love with the idea of bridal jumpsuits, especially if you’re looking to craft a more non-traditional vibe for your wedding day.  The stunner from Ivy + Aster even had pockets.  It was just perfection all around.
  • Cathedral is queen.  There is something just so classic and timeless about a cathedral-length veil.  It gives you so much extra fabric to floof around with while taking photos on your wedding day, and I love the depth it adds to the final images.  I want all the movement!
  • Bangin’ wedding hair.  I love that our models went with a side-swept boho braid and a loose down-do for this shoot.  Updo’s can be a little stiff at times, or worse, prom-y.  I loved these relaxed yet sophisticated styles.

Thank you again to Jolene and this extraordinary vendor team for putting together these industrial Denver bridal photos.  Please enjoy my faves from the day, and thank you for stopping by the blog!

RiNo Denver Engagement Photos

I know you’re not supposed to play favorites in any line of work but damn.  These RiNo Denver engagement photos might just be some of my favorites of the past season!

Mike and Garrett chose to do their engagement session in the RiNo neighborhood as their wedding was planned for Aspen later in the fall.  I love it when my clients balance their photo shoot locations like this, as Colorado has just as much beauty to offer in its mountains as it does in its cities.

From our first consult at Denver Central Market, I knew I was going to have a blast working with these two.  They were recommended to me by one of my favorite Denver wedding planners, Lilli with Sweetly Paired, and I’m so grateful we connected.  It’s been nothing but laughter with these two, and honestly, what more could I possibly need from this job?!

I’m so excited to share some of my favorite frames from their colorful Denver engagement session below.  I just love all the different hues, tones and textures of the RiNo neighborhood and can’t wait to do more shoots there this coming season.  Thank you for stopping by the blog!

Author’s note: I’m sad to report this mural is no longer!  As of May 2020, it has been replaced by a blue buffalo on the west-facing side of RiNo’s resident coffee masters, Crema Coffee House.  I’m retroactively thankful for all the photos I took with it in the background!
