Denver City Park Family Photos

It’s been such a busy family photo season that I haven’t been able to even think about blogging anything until now!  I’m so excited to show you some of these Denver City Park family photos from this recent summer.

What I loved about this session:

  • We had that perfect, good til the last drop summer sunlight.  Nothing beats golden hour!
  • The new design at City Park (near the Denver Museum of Nature and Science) is really stunning!  I loved the new flowers the city planted and made sure to include them in this session.
  • This adorable family!  The girls were great in front of the camera and you can tell that everyone gets along even when the cameras aren’t clicking.

Thank you to this sweet family for having me do a round of family photos for you this year!  I’m excited to share more family photos here soon — there’s a whopping 34 sessions that I shot this fall that I can’t wait to share!

Hello! I’m Ashley but you can call me Ash.  I’ve been a Denver family photographer for over a decade now.  I love being able to see my clients each year for their family photo session.  It is so rad to reconnect and see how the kids are growing.  I would love to meet you and document your family together!  I love maternity photos, lifestyle newborn photos, and your regular “let’s update the annual Christmas card” family photos.  Please get in touch if you have a family photo shoot vision that you’d like to bring to life.  I can’t wait to speak with you!  -Ash

Best Denver family photographersI’ve known this little family for over a decade now!  Amanda and I used to teach at Northglenn High School together, where she was a science teacher and I, French.  I love looking back at their Ouray wedding photos from 2016, where we hopped in a Jeep and went off-roading into the San Juans for the bridal portraits and family photos.  I’ll never forget the views from their wedding, and I’m so lucky they still ring me for family photos every couple of years.  Please enjoy the latest batch from this happy family!

Denver Photography Mentoring

Denver wedding photography mentorOne of my business goals for 2022 is to return to my teaching roots.  Before I decided to helm this photography business full-time, I taught high school French at Northglenn High School for five years.  It was always my dream to have my own classroom full of budding Francophiles practicing how to order crêpes, with photos from past travels to France covering the walls.  The five years I spent in room 221 were an absolute blast, but I had to leave teaching in 2014 to get away from the unfortunately toxic political environment that was becoming more and more common at school districts all over the metro area.

One of the biggest things I miss from teaching (outside of my students) is being able to use the information and skills I’ve acquired over the years to help bring others closer to their goals.  There is something so cool about sharing your personal knowledge with someone else and seeing it all click in their head.  I want to get back to that this year!

In the past, I’ve done mentoring sessions with other photographers, videographers, and small business owners in person over coffee or beer.  With omicron raging abut, I’ve decided to reshape what my future mentoring sessions will look like.  Thanks to trusty ass Zoom, I’m super excited to offer a new virtual mentoring promo for the next few months.  Here are the details:

  • $100 for 60 minutes of mentoring time
  • No topic is off limits: editing, marketing, SEO, blogging, posing techniques (for portraits with couples and families, and also boudoir), interacting with clients, how to survive a wedding day, avoiding burnout, you name it!
  • Flexible timing now that it’s virtual: weekday mornings, on your lunch hour, before you pick your kids up from school, whenever!
  • Perfect for new and emerging photographers or seasoned veterans looking to add fresh techniques and info to their already vast knowledge base

I’d love to help anyone who’s interested in growing their business in 2022.  While I have the most background knowledge pertaining to the visual arts, I’m more than willing to mentor small business owners in similar industries (e.g. wedding florists, hair and makeup teams, service-based companies, etc.).  Feel free to get in touch and we can get started on planning your call!  Please include the topics you’d like to cover and your general availability.  Can’t wait to chat!

Denver Family Photographers

The progression from soft smiles into full-on laughter is my favorite part of any photo shoot, whether it’s mother and daughter photos like these, or any sort of portrait session.  But what’s even somehow better than that?  Getting a hug goodbye at the end of the shoot from Miss Kennedy here!  That just about made my whole year.  I’m currently terribly single (ha!), so I’ll take any affection I can get these days, especially in this funky covid era we’re still stuck in.

Thanks again to these two for sticking it out in the bitter cold with me and for always being kind, genuine, and seriously fashionable.  Happy Monday, and thank you for stopping by the blog!
