For my second Denver photography workshop, I paired up with the incredibly talented Chris from Chris Loring Photography to bring a wedding + portraiture seminar to life. Together, we planned a day of instruction + hands-on practice that was focused on posing and creating meaningful images with the attendees of the workshop. I am so proud of how the event rolled out and am thrilled to share my images from the day with you now!
We started the day off with a mini-mixer, where attendees were able to network and meet other photographers. We surprised everyone with a quick headshot session for everyone who came. Afterwards, we jumped into the instruction for the day.
Chris is a queen behind the camera. She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to evoking genuine emotion from her clients. Her areas of expertise for the day were centered on bringing heartfelt sentiment into photos and creating true romance as well.
I focused on educating the group on the science behind posing and how to pay attention to details like the bride’s jewelry or the groom’s cufflinks to add variety and maximize the time you have with your couples on the wedding day. It was so great to get back to my teaching roots and get in the classroom again.
At the end, we had two stunning real couples in their wedding day garb come in to give the attendees some time to practice what they learned during the workshop. Candice + Jay and Julia + Christian knocked it out of the park and rocked their model status for everyone.
A huge thank-you goes out to all the vendors who helped bring this day to life! We had a dream team who brought this all together and Chris and I couldn’t be more thankful. Take a peek at my favorite frames from the day below. Thank you for stopping by the blog!
One of my favorite hair + makeup artists, Kim Jundt of KimJ Beauty, getting Candice ready for the camera
I love this frame of Jade rocking the bouquet while shooting
Jolene from Veil Trends let us borrow one of her dazzling headpieces that looks so perfect on Candice here
Mandy from MJM Designs crafted a beautiful winter bouquet for Candice
The Studios at Overland Crossing is one of my favorite Denver wedding venues because of this perfect window light
I just can’t get over how ethereal Candice is!
I got to spend some time with the remarkable Julia after the workshop had ended
They are just perfect together!
Knotty Tie Co. was rad enough to craft us some personalized designs for the gentlemen of the workshop
Thank you again to this lovely crew of ladies for spending a day with me and Chris!
