I know I’m a tad belated (ok, I’m over a year late) in posting these photos from my first-ever Denver photography workshop, but better late than never, right?!
Last winter, I decided (in the shower, of course, where all my business ideas seem to surface) to marry my past career (teaching) with my current (wedding photography) and host a workshop focused on wedding day details. At this juncture in my life, I had been out of the classroom, where I taught high school French, for nearly two and a half years, and it was definitely time for me to get back to my educating roots and get in front of a class.
This workshop definitely satisfied my desire to build relationships and give back to the Denver photography community through education. I was almost a little surprised at how much I had missed being an educator. I can’t wait to do more photography workshops like this in the future.
We started the day with a little bit of networking, as we had a sold-out room full of nearly 35 photographers. It was perfect for everyone to be able to schmooze a little bit and make some new friendships before starting the day. Afterwards, we jumped into the meat of the day where I shared my best tips and tricks for shooting details on the wedding day. Shoes, jewelry, cuff links, flowers. Details are my jam and I loved being able to share my knowledge with everyone.
For the last portion of the day, the workshop attendees were able to practice shooting with two models and a full wedding day set-up that included a tablescape, lounge area with the coolest giant paper poppies you’ve ever seen, a stunning four-tier cake, plus a host of other details that ranged from an invitation suite to an apple cider bar.
Take a peek below at the images I shot throughout the course of the day. Thank you so much to everyone who attended my first-ever Denver photography workshop, and to the vendors who made it all possible. Cheers!
